Motel repair and Painting

Volunteers have been busy with repairs and painting of the motel. Phil Moore and Bill Smith repaired damage done to the roof during the wind storm. Bruce Harris, Perc Mahen, George Collins and Glenn Valentine did the painting. Elois Harris helped with the scraping. Bruce also painted the walk-in cooler at Hood Hall and the ice machine storage room. Bruce and George also painted Hood Hall.

Many volunteers helped clean the kitchen and dining area at Hood Hall. We all celebrated Ruth Barnes 90th birthday at Hood Hall after church 11/14/2010 - Over 130 people were there.
The 2010 Thanksgiving Dinner was a planned potluck, served family style. 120 people attended. - Workers: Joe & Carol Dabill, Doug & Sylvia Skinner, Bill & Barb Mitko, Mike & Elaine Goldsmith, Leland & Jo Sayers, Ed & Ruth Harrow, Marilyn Barrett, Alice Ralph - Cooked Turkeys: Barbara Nelson, Marilyn Barrett, Virgina Brannon, Darlene Smith, Ruth Harrow - Joe ran the dishwasher, Bill made potatoes, Elaine, Leland & Ed carved turkeys. - A Thanksgiving Program followed the meal. “Thankful for God, Country and Family” was the theme. Thankful to God—Mary Kay Schantz - Song—We are so blessed - Thankful for Country—Ron Wyncoop - Song—My country tis of thee - Thankful for Family—Ruth Harrow - Song—Family of God - Closing prayer—Bob Andrews - Sound person: Bill Mitko, Song leader: Bill Clark, Piano player, Carol Smith - Also Many volunteers helped clean up afterwards, and many more helped move the tables and chairs so that the carpet could be cleaned.
We all greeted the new park manager Ron and his wife G G and the new office manager Sherry and her husband Ron. after the residents meeting in December.

Our Annual July 4th cook out and program at Hood Hall. Every Year this is a fun Time.

Summer residents gathered at the Villa’s Maxwell Commons and truly surprised Virginia Twichell on her 90th birthday. Her daughter, Pat flew in for the occasion so that two mom’s and their daughters could have a reunion and remember days in Woodstock. Twich was by her side, happy to have pulled one over on her for this special day.
